    Greetings and Salutations friends!

Thanks for downloading Episode 53 of The Wigglian Way, we're so glad that you're here.

We have two special guests with us tonight, Wendy the EcoPriestess joins us along with her HP, our good friend Steven! Yay!

In honour of Canada Day, tonight's feature album is Fogerty's Cove by the immortal Stan Rogers. From Fogerty's Cove we hear Barrett's Privateers and Giant and we finish the show with Fisherman's Wharf.

Also musically tonight we hear Girl in the Garden by SJ Tucker (I had nothing to do with it) and Dirty Little Secret by Gaia Consort.

FaerieWorlds is less than four weeks away! We're getting pretty excited...

A new show that we've listened to and like; Corvinnia Speaks; check her out. (I must admit that I mispronounce Corvinnia's name twice; I make it sound like Cor-VEE-na, so for that I'm sorry, but I did enjoy her show!)

    Podkin Love!

Thank you so much for making The Wigglian Way the lovely journey that it is. You are so special that we can't put it into words!

Thanks for downloading the show, we hope that you like it.

    • How terribly remiss of me - Wendy, Steven - hello, so wonderful to hear your voices!! Miss seeing you annually ...

    • It is so nice to listen to the show when I get the opportunity. It lets me know that I REALLY must MAKE that opportunity more often. Sparrow, I have always known you can sing - do you know it now (finally) also?
      Hi, Mojo ... :)

    • Caspar, although our first go was a bit out of tune our second attempt sounds quite good, so the show is in the bag (*wink*).
Jac, thanks for the note. We\'ve read your email too. Give us a few days (maybe more) to think about your question. However, my first thought is that I would have to go with science and what I have studied.
You can tell your husband that his doing even one thing is going to change things. He is making a difference by recycling that beer bottle. hehe.

    • The footprint idea inspired even my husband... If you ever met him you'd get how big of an impact that really is!!!!! (Think stupid American with a beer in front of his tv!)

Thank you for introducing me to Pagan music

I had something written and then realised I\'d save it for the show.

    • Hi Fire Lyte! Good points thanks :)

Also one thing I had a bit of problem with on the test is, I live in the desert so we use all electricity for cooling.. so alot of it, but all our power comes from nuclear and the salt river(guess a dam). Both of which are carbon neutral from what I understand. (Though I assume the dam couldn't have been good for the environment when it was put in). I guess nuclear power is still too controversial for the test to include.

Also I had some thoughts on the last segment, I loved it! I think some of the virtues of manhood have been ignored or forgotten lately. Many Masculine portrayals recently seem to be goofy pervy oafs or overly violent raging jerks ..or all of the above.
Most of the virtues that make a Man are not based in sexuality, but in strength of character, maturity and responsibility. (and even many of my gay friends seem to be more man than my straight ones in this regard)

So I definitely agree with the show, one doesn't need to be straight to be a high priest. Just a good Man, rather than just a male :)

    • Hi Fire,

The point of the quiz with regards to meat eating is that it takes a lot more land mass to raise livestock and therefore is a lot more impactful on the earth when we eat a lot of meat in our diets. Its like you consume a part of their ecological footprint, which is quite high.

And thankfully I have never had to make the decision of whether i would eat or change a lightbulb in my life yet, but then again i've been working since i was a wee lad! What I have been doing though is making better environmentally conscious choices since I became friends and working partners with the Eco-Priestess (Gods i love that name! hehe)

    • Steven, I think most people eat some form of meat at most meals, but the key - and the quiz made a point of this - is whether or not you're eating it in balance with fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. Or, at least that's what I got out of it. As long as you're not just eating a bunch of meat with little to no other nutritious foods, then you should be fine.

Agal, I remember being a poor college student - funny, as I'm now a poor graduate :) - and a lot of what I ate was fast food, as it's what I could afford. Also, you don't really think a lot about recycling or replacing bulbs and such as the money just isn't there. It's kind of strange, but once funds come in more readily it's easier to make some of these changes. However, when it comes to the decisions of "Do I change a couple of lightbulbs, or do I eat this week?" I think the Lord and Lady understand our needs. Don't fret!

    • I was kind of shocked that my footprint was so big too, I am only 5'6"!! Heh Kidding. But seriously, my downfall was that I eat meat at every meal, and I actually eat 6 (small) meals a day, so that really kills the environment... Oops.

posted by: Steven on 2009-07-07 19:19:00

    • Hmm.. that footprint thing seems kind of odd for me. I'm broke as heck college student, rent a small room from a nice lady. Mix between carpool and bus, and it says I take 4.63 earths. That seems high considering what the other Wigglians have, and considering my economic situation.... my footprint can only get bigger.
I have faith in human ingenuity, especially now with greater global emphasis on green matters that things will be developed to decrease footprints all around.

Oh well, great show again :)!

    • Never mind... I found a great resource at http://www.myfootprint.org. 3.5 Earths for me and my family! I felt awful. My recycling regime gets upped immediately.

Also, Goodness Gracious Goddess, I loved the segment on the gay members of the pagan community. In many cultures, it was gay men that made up the mystics, the shamans, those that were in charge of guarding and supporting the community magically. It was, and I suppose still is, thought that they were the perfect balance of masculine and feminine, the God and Goddess combined. So, whenever I falter in my place in the pagan community, I remember this. It's a comfort.

    • I must admit, I've not made it through the entire episode just yet - as silly little things like work and the gym got in the way of my enjoyment. I've made it through the Eco Priestess segment, and was wondering if there's an online copy of this quiz you all took. I'd like to know what my footprint is, and I like some of the questions you all were talking about in your quizzes.

      Thanks!

    • I liked hearing from Wendy again. I think it is much easier in some places than others to shrink your footprint. Here we depend on vehicles to get everywhere as we are a long ways away from everything. Much of our fruits and vegetables need to be brought in from far away too, which is horrible for the environment.

Another thing that was nice about this show is that you all did not agree on everything so we were exposed to varying opinions and viewpoints on things.

Thanks for another great show guy(s) and doll(s)!

P.S. Do you think the next time you have Wendy there you could sing I Hear You Calling?
