- Once again - you guys are fantastic. Congratulations for the 50th podcasts!
Being a Scout, we had often sung a variation of the last chant at our campfires. The lyrics were as Pagan had stated. The scene setting was of a large open, still lake. In the far distance you could see a canoe making its way across the lake. It slowly approaches you and goes past. The group starts singing it slowly, building more loudly, then quietening down (as the canoe goes past). If the scene is set well, so you can smell the pine tree and see the blue skies it just gives me the tingles to sing it. Thanks for the memories!!
Peace and blessings to you both

/|\ - Hey Sparrow and Mojo! Greetings from New Mexico. Congratulations on 50 podcasts and here's to many, many more!
I loved the chants. The last one, though, I've always heard it as "Hey-ho nobdody home. Meat nor drink, nor money have I none. Yet I will be merry." It's apparently a 16th century English Christmas song? - Thanks everyone for your more than kind comments.
Fire Lyte,
About teens in the coven. I think that is up to the individual High Priestess. However, that being said, I don\'t know ANY High Priestess that would do it. If a parent wants to teach the basics of the Craft (not oathbound and not adult content) to their child that is their business. I am a parent of 3 teens and I would NOT have them in a coven. They need to wait until they are 18 to dedicate themselves to any faith. One is over 18 and is a student of the Craft.
The Craft is a mystery religion. It would be difficult for teens to know or understand many of the mysteries. Teen covens (IMO) are mostly study groups. That\'s my \"short\" answer.
I will never have someone under 18 in my coven. Eighteen is not a magic number either. That is a minimum age at which I would teach someone. Teaching someone does not mean that they would necessarily be part of a coven.
It\'s all about the Love,
Sparrow - Thanks for the awesome show, yet again! I am grateful you all took the time to answer my questions about covens. Though some answers still left some question marks floating above my head, I think I have a greatly improved idea of what being in a coven is all about.
One leading question, however, if you don't mind. IF a parent has decided that their child (let's say the child in question is a young teenager, like 13 or 14) is ready to experience the coven lifestyle. Would a High Priest(ess) ever consider allowing membership if, say, they spent extensive time talking to both parent and child about the reasons they want to do this?
And, what is your opinion about teenagers creating covens? I've heard it's a growing trend. Do you think these are wise?
Thanks!
Love and Lyte,
Fire Lyte
http://Fire-Lyte.blogspot.com - Trinity Demask is interesting..I like her. Her first song really smacked of one of Tori Amos\' songs whereas her second one reminded me of Norah Jones.
Congrats on 5o you two! How far you have come... As always, another rockin\' episode from two very talented, lovely people.
