- Hi to you both (in no order, so no-one gets jealous!)
What a great show with a really interesting interview. The time just sped by!
Just a comment on "Steampunk" though. The question was raised about the link between Steam punk and paganism. Steam punk was correctly defined, and an example of this would be the film "the Wild Wild West". However, I would suggest that there is little to link Steam punk to Paganism - or at least, as much as there is between Goth and paganism - it is a fashion scene (quite an impressive one) rather than a link to any one belief system.
I'd also like to raise the "chicken and egg" question around Wicca and initiation. If, as Mojo states, to be a Wiccan you need to be initiated, then how were the first Wiccans initiated? If you then allow that the first Wiccans were initiated by non-Wiccans, then is not self-initiation valid as well - or would a group of non-initiates working together to initiate each other be acceptable? I would certainly agree that you could not just decide to join a coven without some form of agreed initiation, but whether that is undertaken by the group or by an individual is surely part of an overall decision of that group (or rather, the coven)...
Bright blessings to you both
David
